Many SEN learners would have problems accessing a blog. However - I believe that there may be some possible benefits in the following areas: 1. We have an international partnership with a school in Ghana. I think that some kind of class-led blog might be a very effective way of building relationships between our learners. Many classes already have diary time in class – and this could easily be transferred to a blog. 2. There might be some good possiblities for organising staff blogs. As well as being a good opportunity for disseminating information and discussion – it would also allow staff to become familiar with there use.

Yes Ben I agree with you. This is the way forward and of course ICT is increasingly the most important curriculum area really in terms of global communication. Letters and pigeons take ages to get there…………

Thanks for the comment Roz. I think that the application of ICT in the education of ASD learners is only just being explored. Certainly computers seem to have a real resonance with autistic learning styles.
I’m setting up a blog for the Macaroni Woods trip next week. I know that those learners are GLD and not ASD, but it will be a good proof of concept!
